As a proud alumnus of the Leningrad Conservatoire, Alexey Michailovich Dolgov (b. 1952) works at the Musical Lyceum. There, he leads several orchestras and teaches bayan — an accordion-like instrument. He has an intensive concert schedule, including concerts at the Concertgebow Hall in Amsterdam and the Grand Hall of Saint-Petersburg Philarmonia. Dolgov is the author of many widely used musical adaptations for Russian folk orchestras. Dolgov was officially awarded the prestigious title of Honored Cultural Worker. Dolgov became a Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orchestra in 1985. |
